
A person has known as for extra site visitors calming measures after his pets have been killed on the highway.
Greater than 100 folks have signed a petition demanding motion on the A15 at Dyke.
Leslie Panrucker launched the marketing campaign after his cats Rubi and Cristal have been knocked down and killed inside two weeks of one another. He believes each automobiles have been rushing.
Leslie, of Foremost Highway, mentioned: “The impact of this tragic loss of life caused great distress to myself and my wife Iris.
“Neighbours are aware of what happened and have also expressed concern and anger. We wanted to make the local authority aware of the increased speed of vehicles travelling through Dyke.”
Lincolnshire county councillor Sue Woolley (Con) met with Leslie to debate his considerations.
She mentioned: “I was very sorry to hear about the loss of Mr Panrucker’s cats, especially as their deaths were so close together. Pets are an important part of a family and I am sure they are very much missed.
“I will be happy to support a community speed watch programme through the village. They are a useful initiative run by the community for the benefit of the community.
“In the meantime I am asking the police to carry out speed checks through the village.”
Coun Woolley will take the petition to the highways division at Lincolnshire County Council and ask officers to have a look at doable site visitors calming measures.
Mr Panrucker outlined the primary issues as a scarcity of avenue lighting on the A15 junction, a pinch level for site visitors at Carr Dyke bridge, rushing at each ends of the village and the hazard of kids crossing the A15 once they get off the college bus from Bourne.
